Engineers choosing tools this week
Why this audience books tools
They are costing a warehouse this week
Readers land on Query Profile, Slim CI, and Glue vs EMR — not “what is data.” A placement here sits next to a decision.
The catalog is machine-readable

The bar stays up
We decline dofollow packages and generic SEO. Thesample sponsored postis the quality you are buying.

How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the product
Package, URL, and what you want a practitioner to try. Use the form or email.
- Step 2
Editorial review
DE-relevant tools, courses, and platforms only. A no is a short email, not silence.
- Step 3
Pay and schedule
Stripe when a payment link is live, otherwise an invoice. Dates within 48 hours of payment.
- Step 4
You own the clicks
UTM-tagged links in your analytics. Live URL by email. No invented impression dashboard.
Paid packages
Starting prices in USD. Indie tools are welcome — the in-article mention is the smallest paid test.

FAQ
What currency are prices in?
US dollars. “From” is the starting price for a standard placement. A longer piece or a homepage slot is quoted separately.
How do I pay?
Stripe checkout when a payment link is configured. Until then we send an invoice after we accept the fit. We do not take cash apps in the form.
Is there a lock-in?
No monthly contract. One-time packages stay up; newsletter is one send. Cancel before go-live for a full refund.
I want to write a guest article. Is that advertising?
No. Guest tutorials are free and editorial. Pitch on Write for us with a title, outline, and two samples. Do not use this form for guest posts.
Do you sell dofollow backlinks or “guest post + DA” packages?
No. Sponsor links are rel="sponsored nofollow". If that is the only thing you want, this is the wrong site.
Who reads DataLane?
Working data and analytics engineers evaluating warehouses, orchestration, dbt, and the AI-on-data stack — plus people hiring or certifying in that world. We will not invent an audience pie until analytics is live.
What if the product is a poor fit?
We decline. Gambling, generic SEO, get-rich-quick, adult, and unrelated finance products are automatic nos.
Where does a placement appear?
Sponsored post: a dated article in the blog and catalogs. Mention: inside a matching guide or cheat sheet. Resources: a card on /resources. Newsletter: one labeled blurb when the list is live.
How do you report results?
Newsletter: a send screenshot. Site placements: the live URL plus UTM parameters you own. After Google Analytics is on, we can share aggregate pageviews for that URL. We will not seed fake totals or ship a private impression dashboard we do not run.
Can I run more than one package?
Yes. Say so on the form. We will not stack two paid mentions in the same article.
Can I change the URL after it is live?
One free copy or URL fix is included. Further edits by email; we usually apply them within two business days.
Refunds?
Full refund if you cancel before the placement goes live. After it is live, unused newsletter issues can be pro-rated. A published sponsored article stays up except for legal or factual errors.
Policies in plain language
Refunds
Cancel before go-live for a full refund. After go-live, unused newsletter issues can be pro-rated. A published sponsored article stays up; we do not unpublish on request except for legal or factual errors.
Editorial bar
Sponsorships do not rewrite organic tutorials. Accepted: data tools, warehouses, courses, and infrastructure a practitioner can try. Rejected: gambling, adult, generic SEO, get-rich-quick, and products that do not serve data engineers. We can still say no after a first look.
Timing
After payment and assets, we aim to schedule within 48 hours. If we slip more than two business days on our side, we move the end date at no cost. Mentions and articles are calendar bookings, not impression buys.
Your claims
You own the accuracy of logos, prices, and product claims. We will not print a savings percent without a window you can point to. See the sample sponsored post for the bar.
Disclosure
Every paid placement is labeled. We will not hide an FTC disclosure. Links default to rel="sponsored nofollow".
What this does not include
Guaranteed traffic or rankings, exclusive site-wide takeover, dofollow backlinks, or a private impression dashboard. You get a live URL, UTMs you control, and email to the author.
Bookings are informal until we confirm dates by email. DataLane is run byDinesh Chandra. The version of this page on the day you book is what applies. See alsoaffiliate disclosure andprivacy.
