Guest tutorials
Write for DataLane
If you have shipped a pipeline, eaten a warehouse bill, or explained a grain bug out loud, pitch it. We publish practitioners — not recycled docs.
Your name on the byline
The post ships under your name, with a short bio and one link to your site or LinkedIn. Dinesh Chandra stays editor, not ghost author.
Same bar as staff posts
We edit for grain, cost, and whether the SQL runs. A guest post is not a softer lane. Readers should not be able to tell who opened the PR.
Not a backlink product
Editorial. Free. One author link. We do not sell dofollow packages, “guest post + DA,” or a placement you did not write.
What we take
- A production incident, bill, or wrong number — and what you changed
- SQL, Python, or a diagram a reader can reuse the same day
- Honest tradeoffs: when the tool loses, not only when it wins
- Original work that is not already published, and not a rewrite of vendor docs
What we send back
- AI slurries, SEO “10 best tools” lists, and unpaid product pitches
- Anything you would need to label sponsored — that belongs on Advertise
- Credentials, customer data, or leaked exam dumps
- A draft whose only goal is a dofollow link
How it works
Step 1
Pitch
Title, stack, five-bullet outline, and two writing samples (or a public PR / post).
Step 2
Go / no-go
We reply within 5 business days. A no is a short email, not silence.
Step 3
Draft
1,200+ words. You write. We mark grain, claims, and code. One or two rounds.
Step 4
Ship
It goes live on DataLane with your byline. We do not rewrite you into a house voice without asking.
Draft bar
- 1,200+ words of original, unpublished prose.
- Runnable examples — SQL, Python, or a mermaid that matches the text.
- Five takeaways a reader can steal into a runbook.
- No invented metrics. If you do not have the query history, do not put a savings percent in the title.

FAQ
Is this paid?
No. Guest tutorials are unpaid editorial. If a vendor is paying for the words, use Advertise and we will label it sponsored.
Do I keep copyright?
You keep the copyright. DataLane gets a perpetual license to host, update dates, and fix factual errors. If we need a material rewrite after publish, we email you first.
Can I syndicate it later?
Yes, after it has been live here for 14 days. Link back to the DataLane URL. Do not republish the full text on a content farm the same week.
Will you promote it on social?
When those channels are live, yes. We will not invent a follower count. The durable thing is the URL in the catalog, RSS, and llms.txt.
Submit a pitch
After you send: check spam if you do not see a FormSubmit confirmation. We reply within 5 business days with a yes, a revise, or a no. Outline first. Do not attach a 4,000-word draft until we say yes. You can also emailsrinivasa8511@gmail.com.
